Richard Lee Gee, Sr. was born on November 6, 1936 in Gary, Indiana, the second of three boys born to Squire and Julia Gee.
Richard attended Roosevelt High School and graduated with the class of 1955, after which he began his career at Inland Steel in East Chicago, Indiana.
In 1958, Richard married Arlene Range. To this union, two children were born: Richard Jr. (Ricky) and Pamela. On June 28, 1980, Richard married Georgia Thompson and blended into her family of seven more children and grandchildren.
After his retirement from Inland Steel as a foreman of Blast Furnace Operations, Richard decided to enjoy his retirement and went on vacation to Arizona. He and Georgia decided they enjoyed the warm weather so much; they relocated to Chandler, AZ in 1992 where they resided for many years until her death in 2019. Together, they enjoyed traveling to their favorite place Hawaii, attending family reunions and taking cruises. She lovingly referred to him as “Boyfriend” and he called her “Boss”!
Richard dedicated his life to Jehovah and symbolized his dedication by water baptism on May 25, 1996. Though he was a quiet man by nature, he was a faithful brother who was always willing to assist his congregation when needed. He served as a regular pioneer and as a ministerial servant for several years in the Ocotillo Lakes congregation in Arizona. He and Georgia were privileged to attend international conventions with their children and grandchildren.
Due to his declining health, Richard moved to Atlanta, GA. in January of 2020 to be cared for by his family. Sadly, on May 9, 2022 at the age of 86, Richard fell asleep in death.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Georgia; two brothers, Tommie and Freddie; stepdaughter, Gladys Banks; stepson, Glen Cole; granddaughter, Bernice Banks and grandson, Clifford Cole.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Pamela Gee (Gary, IN); son, Richard Gee, Jr. (Gary, IN); 4 stepdaughters: Yvonne Bills (Gary, IN), Robbie Cole (Apache Junction, AZ), Mary Heffner (Conyers, GA), Johnita (Rafur) Ragland (Phoenix, IL); 1 stepson: Barron Thompson (Conyers, GA), 1 son-in-Law, Charles (Ida) Banks, Sr. (Chandler, AZ); 1 daughter-in-law, Geneva Cole (Gary, IN); 10 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, spiritual family and friends.
