— To Remember —

Winona Lavell Bailey

10/18/1931 — 05/06/2023

Mrs. Winona (Simmons) Bailey was born to Nathaniel and Willetta Simmons on October 18, 1931. She was a life-long resident of Montgomery, Alabama. She passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the age of 91.

In 1951, Winona married John H. Bailey, and to this union were born six children: Kenneth, Deborah, Rodney, Reginald, Kremarti and Irving. Her self-sacrificing love for her family will always be remembered.

“Mama Bailey” (as she was affectionately called by many) dedicated her life to Jehovah God and was baptized in symbol of that dedication on April 11, 1965. Thereafter, she put forth great effort to help her children come to learn about and to love Jehovah as well. She always had words of wisdom to share. Her many years of faithful service and her joy in helping others learn about her heavenly Father and the truths found in His Word, the Bible, were a source of great encouragement to her family and friends.

Winona Bailey was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, John H. Bailey; by her parents, Nathaniel Simmons and Willetta Simmons-Burchfield; and by heryounger sister, Gwen. She is survived by her children: Kenneth Bailey, of Montgomery, AL; Deborah(Ronald) McKitt, of Millbrook, AL; Rodney (Maxine) Bailey, Reginald (Sharon) Bailey, Kremarti (Melissa) Bailey, all of Montgomery, AL; Irving (Pam) Bailey, of Buford,GA; and her brother Donald (Georgia) Simmons. She also leavesto cherish her memory a host of grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, two nieces, one nephew, other relatives, as well as her large spiritual family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

We eagerly look forward to the day when we will see her again in that Grand Resurrection so near at hand! (Job 14:14, 15)
