Donna Jean (Moses) Protho, 79, of Gary, Indiana, peacefully
passed away on June 5, 2025. Born on January 27, 1946, in
Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Charles W. Moses and
Vivvian Moses. The family relocated to Gary in 1947.
A proud graduate of Tolleston High School, Donna was known
for her warm smile, kind heart, and sharp tongue. She
cherished her family, friends, and her favorite indulgences, H&H
(Hennessy and Heineken). Donna's legacy is one of love,
compassion, humor, and unwavering support for those she held
dear.
She spent the majority of her adult life in East Chicago
(harbor), Indiana where she worked at well-loved community
establishments, including the VFW, the Rainbow Lounge, the
Turf and the Blue Max Lounge.
She is survived by her children and their spouses; Tonya Protho
(Kim Sadrick), Robert Protho (Christopher Kerecman), Robyn
Protho (Jkael Harrison), Corey Bostic (Charlene Bostic), and
Tarzah Protho-Holliday (Lee Holliday); cherished grandchildren
Kiara Protho, Miesha Jackson, DaJuan Holden, Gary Protho, Tasja
Protho, Ashley Ballard, Chase Brown, Jaquan Holliday, Courtney
Bostic, JāKaela Protho, Cyler Bostic, Lejacob Holliday; ten great-
grandchildren, and a host nieces, nephews, other family and
friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Vivian
Moses, her siblings Charles Jr., David (aka Michael), and Joanna.
