Wanda Woolridge

On April 9, 1961 a golden, caring heart was born, Wanda Lorette McGregor to George and Emma Jean McGregor.

Wanda grew up in the Chicagoland area with her parents and siblings: Robin, Anita and Reginald.  She attended Hendricks Grammar School and graduated from Fenger High School in 1979. She was raised by her parents as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and symbolized her dedication to Jehovah God in 1975.

Wanda met Richard Lewis Sr. during high school and they later married. To this union four children were born: Quiana, Ricky Jr., Dana and Jennifer.  In 1994, Wanda met Charles Woolridge, uniting with him in marriage on May 10, 1997. During this union, 11 grandchildren blossomed.

Wanda wore many hats until she found her nitch - teaching! She worked many years as a child-care provider. Everyone loved Miss Wanda and Miss Wanda loved every one. If you knew her, you loved her for her sense of humor- her beautiful smile, jokes and laughter! She also had a love for cooking and music.

Wanda was a daughter, mother, sister, wife, grandmother and best friend to one and all. If she knew you, you were family. Although growing up attending congregations in Chicago, Wanda most recently attended the English Highland Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. 

On Friday, November 20, 2020, Wanda took her last nap. However, she looked forward to Jehovah’s promise of life restored with perfect health in paradise on earth. 

She was preceded in death by her dad George and her brother Reginald.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Charles Woolridge; her mother, Emma Jean; her children; Quiana (Joevan), Ricky, Jr (Krystal), Dana (Jason) and Jennifer; her siblings, Anita and Robin (Willie); In-laws, Alicia Woolridge, Kimberly and Kenneth Bascom; her 11 grandchildren and a host of many other relatives and friends.
