Maria G. Camarena

Maria G. Camarena was born on March 19, 1934 to the late Adela and Jose Garza in Weslaco, TX. She was the firstborn daughter of many children. Maria married (the late) Juan Arias Camarena and moved to Chicago, Illinois. From this union, 10 children were born Jesse, Refugio (Kookie), Rudy, Frank, (the late) Charlie, Lupe, Robert, Irene, Thomas and Ralph Camarena. Maria studied the bible and learned wonderful truths about her creator Jehovah. She dedicated her life to him and symbolized her dedication by water baptism. Maria will always be remembered for her love for Jehovah, her love and compassion for her family and others, and her love for gardening and road trips. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and six of her siblings; Jose Santos, Manfredo Elias, Saul Matis, Jose Cesar Garza, Aminta Williams, and Jose A. Rosales; and her son Charlie Camarena. She is survived by her brother, Lorenzo Garza; sisters Alice, Toni and Lee Rosales. She is also survived by her 9 children, 22 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren as well as many other family including spiritual brothers and sisters and friends.
